The primary aim of the book series Slovenski pravljičarji / Slovenian Storytellers, starting in 2010, is to convey the wealth of the narrative lore from the archives of the Institute of Slovenian Ethnology at the Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and to present storytellers and collectors of oral heritage from different parts of the Slovenian ethnic territory. Although the series largely focuses on the copious material collected by Dr. Milko Matičetov in the 1950s, 1960s, and the 1970s it also includes narratives told by other storytellers, be it decades ago or recently. Enclosed to each book is a scholarly study and a compact disc with recordings from the repertory of the storyteller featured in the book.
