The lexicon The Eighties: A Conceptual Lexicon of the New Cultural Field is a collective work in progress, presents concepts and thematisations of phenomena which shaped the last decade of Yugoslav socialism. The Lexicon's aim is to collect, organise, and disseminate knowledge that is needed for understanding the 1980s and its intellectual history.

By examining selected concepts, the lexicon establishes a framework for further research and responsible public debate on the period in question, based on historical facts and theoretically considered analyses and interpretations.

The lexicon is therefore not only a description of social changes, but also a presentation of new ideas and new forms of expression – including (self-)reflection by key actors and other companions. At first glance, the glossary does not differ significantly from other lexicons or encyclopaedias.
